Impact Floor Dance & Entrance! $30 1 hour workshop

By Julia Edwards

Julia Award winning, and multi talented Dancer Extraordinaire. Recorded in The Costume Makers Art, by Tom Boswell in honor of all the costumes she made through the years. She also graced the CD cover of John Bilezikjian’s “The Magic Of John Bilezikjian” (https://www.amazon.com/Magic-Bilezikjian-Deluxe-Version-Routines/dp/B00H81IX5S) and the routine called Julia’s Dream was dedicated to her. She has entertained audiences all over the world, including many celebrities and special events. Always the lady, she has exhibited skills from stage entrances, working the floor, including rising to or dropping to the floor. She also still performs rolling quarters on her stomach!

Stage Presence from the First Step:

Elegant Entrances & Beautiful Floor Dance

A performance begins before the first move—and how you enter the stage and transition to the floor can transform a routine from good to unforgettable.

This workshop focuses on graceful stage entrances and beautiful, accessible floor dance, designed especially for dancers who want to move with confidence, clarity, and intention rather than acrobatics.

Participants will explore:

  • Commanding the stage from the first step – entrances that establish presence, confidence, and connection with the audience

  • Safe, elegant transitions to the floor – smooth, controlled ways to descend without strain or rush

  • Simple, effective floor movements – beautiful shapes and pathways that work for a variety of bodies and ability levels

  • Body-part awareness – how hands, arms, spine, hips, head, and gaze each contribute to a polished, expressive floor presence

  • Musical phrasing & pauses – using stillness, breath, and accents to enhance artistry

  • Graceful ascents – returning to standing with dignity, flow, and musicality

The emphasis is on clarity, control, and expression, not tricks. Movements are adaptable and can be modified for comfort, mobility, and individual style, making this workshop suitable for dancers of all ages and experience levels.

Whether you’re preparing for the Grand Diva Bellydance Contest or simply want to refine your performance quality, this class will help you move with intention, elegance, and confidence—from your first entrance to your final rise.
