We welcome Commander Mojo & the Horns of Discontent, Friday March 27 at 7 PM!
Commander Mojo & the Horns of Discontent wants you to get on the floor and dance! Formed in 2012, the band is a collection of both old high school friends and veteran music teachers from the Edmonds, Everett, Shoreline, and Bellevue School Districts.
Commander Mojo has played all over the Puget Sound region including at the Tulalip Casino, Kenmore (Old Mia Roma/Capps Club), Bothell (McMenamins), Lake Forest Park, Mukilteo, Everett, Lynnwood, Bellevue, Richmond Beach, Anacortes, and Seattle. Public events have included the Bothell Beer Festival, Anacortes and Edmonds Arts Festivals, Issaquah Salmon Days, Tour de Terrace, The Monroe Fair, and the Snohomish County Plaza Concert Series.
Their setlist includes selections by Bruno Mars, The Isley Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Sam & Dave, Wilson Pickett, The J. Geils Band, Van Morrison, Tom Jones, The Doobie Brothers, Cee-Lo Green, Gnarls Barkley, Paul Simon, and Chicago.
Food and beverages will be available, and this is an ALL AGES and FREE event!
We ask you however, to SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC and TIP THE BAND!
The Musicians:
Matt Edwards – Keyboards, Background Vocals, Arranger
Band Director at Madrona K8 in the Edmonds School District and piano instructor in Kenmore. Tries to keep all the Mojo dudes heading in the same direction.
Doug Rothaus – Bass, Vocals, Guitar
Doug has been playing and singing in the Seattle area for over 35 years. Currently coding in the high-tech industry. Doug also plays in local modern worship bands and teaches lessons to young guitar and bass students.
David Dunkley – Guitar, Bass, Vocals
Singer/Songwriter/Instructor from Edmonds. Current music and STEM instructor at Washington Prep Academy in Mill Creek and Edmonds Heights. Look for his original compositions on most streaming services under the group name “Beggars & Saints”.
Ed Dominguez – Saxes
Retired band director from the Edmonds School District. Ed is also a naturalist and ski & climbing instructor.
Scott Ketron – Drums
Scott Ketron is a journeyman drummer able to adapt to contemporary pop, swing, latin, jazz and big band. Along with Commander Mojo he appears with Joey Jewel and the Swingin' 60s Orchestra, the Jazz Police Big Band, the Greg Fulton Quartet and Buena Vibra, a Salsa band where he plays vibes.
John High – Guitar
John is a veteran of theater, having played guitar for Village Theater, 5th Avenue Theater, and Paramount Theater productions. Most recently John has been seen performing with local bands Hall Pass and The Jazz Police.
Jeff Sizer - Trombone
Retired band director. Current director of the Jazz Police. In a much earlier life spent 5 years on the road with Seattle bands, the Sonics and the New Deal Rhythm Band.
David Lamoreux – Trumpet
Retired band director from the Edmonds and Everett School Districts. Currently teaches private music lessons in Everett. Dave has shared the stage with acts such as Ray Charles and the Temptations.
Paul Gillespie – Saxes
Paul Gillespie is a saxophonist, composer, and music educator who performs improvised music throughout the Seattle area as a member of the Jazz Police, PGM Trio, and Jim Cutler Jazz Orchestra. Teaches band in the Bellevue School District.

Alex Dugdale – Saxes, Trumpet
Band director in the greater Seattle area. Also fronts the Fade Jazz Quintet and has performed with many of Seattle’s finest ensembles including the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra, The Jazz Police, and the Seattle Symphony.
Mark Press - Trombone
Retired Edmonds School District music teacher. Active director in the in musical theater community, including the Driftwood Players and the Madrona Children’s Theater.
Jake Bergevin – Vocals, Trumpet
Band director and Department Chair at Edmonds-Woodway High School. Also enjoys an active performing life as the leader of the Javatown Swing Orchestra and Jazz Punishments Big Band.
Darin Faul- Trumpet
Mountlake Terrace High School Band Director.
Chris Monroe - Drums
Local legend in drumming circles!
Alec Wilmart – Drums
Band director at Kellogg Middle School in the Shoreline School District. Alec works as a drummer/percussionist at the 5th Ave Theatre, and as a staff arranger for the UW Husky Marching Band.
